Know Your Place
Windsor Estates is approximately 4 miles west of US 1 on NC Highway 96 in Southern Franklin County next to Pocomoke Road. Known as Pocomoke Crossroads, the land is rich with springs, creeks, winding roads and privacy.
The folks with Old Towne have taken great care to preserve and enhance the pastoral elements that make the land special. There are 9 acres of open space including natural walking trails, waterside sitting area, dog park and playground for residents to enjoy. |
A Little History
The land for Windsor Estates was purchased from the Carey family in 2006 where they had made their home for 26 years. Their home was designed by local artist Jerry Miller who is well known for his drawings of numerous historical buildings, landmarks, churches, schools and colleges across the state, winning numerous local and state awards. Wood beams, flooring and stone from the original homestead and a neighboring barn were salvaged and incorporated into the design of Carey home.
From the open field next to their home and stretching across hwy 96, the Carey’s would take off and land their plane. The picture was taken by Reverend Carey on one of his many flights.
